History of the Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine at Dian Nuswantoro University has a long history of development. It originated as a School of Health Sciences and continued to grow in response to the increasing demand for qualified medical professionals. Over time, the School of Health Sciences was upgraded to a Faculty of Health Sciences, which later underwent further development and was ultimately established as the Faculty of Medicine. This transformation reflects the university’s commitment to providing excellent medical education and producing competent graduates in the healthcare field.

2000

Establishment of the Foundation

The history of the establishment of Dian Nuswantoro University (UDINUS) began with the founding of the Dian Nuswantoro Academy of Informatics and Computer Management, known as AMIK Dian Nuswantoro, by the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation. Historical records indicate that the university developed rapidly with strong determination, as reflected in its philosophy, “Dumununging Ingsun Angraksa Nagara.” Originally established as an academy, UDINUS has since transformed into a leading university with five faculties and 28 study programs.

2001

Foundation Merger

In 2001, the Lintang Nuswantoro School of Health Sciences (STKES), officially established under the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 03/D/O/2000, merged with the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation. This merger elevated its status to Dian Nuswantoro University (UDINUS) by integrating STMIK, STIE, STBA, STKES, and APIKES into five faculties: the Faculty of Computer Science, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Language and Literature, the Faculty of Health, and the Faculty of Engineering.

2022

Moratorium on the Establishment of Faculties of Medicine

In 2022, following the lifting of the moratorium on the establishment of Faculties of Medicine for universities holding superior accreditation status and offering related study programs in the medical field, Dian Nuswantoro University met the requirements to propose the establishment of a Faculty of Medicine.

2023

Official Opening of the Faculty of Medicine

On August 22, 2023, Dian Nuswantoro University (UDINUS) officially obtained approval to open the Undergraduate Medical Education Program (PSPSK) and the Medical Professional Education Program (PSPPD). The establishment of the Faculty of Medicine was based on the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology No. 5991/E1/HK.03.00/2023.

Further strengthening the history of Dian Nuswantoro University as a rapidly growing institution with a strong commitment to realizing the philosophy Dumununging Ingsun Angrakso Nagoro. The establishment of the Faculty of Medicine represents the development of Dian Nuswantoro University, as well as the commitment and support of the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation
